He made his top-flight debut for Sparta on in a 3–1 away loss at Teplice. The Prague-born player was spotted by Sparta Prague when he was 11 years old. Growing up, his footballing hero was Manchester United player Wayne Rooney. He has made over 30 caps for his national team and helped them reach the quarter-finals of the European Championship in 2020, where he won both the Goal of the Tournament and the Silver Boot awards as the second-highest goalscorer of the tournament.
